We met Pierre Matta when we were moving from Wellesley to Brookline just over two years ago. Our interior designer introduced us to him at a chaotic time for us. He made and has continued to make an enormous difference in the quality of our lives. We had been living in a president's house, with many people looking after it, bringing to it, and to its occupants, exceptional care, skill, and attention. Pierre has filled what was a very large gap in the support systems on which we had come to depend. He designed and built an intricate book-and-glass case in our new living room, perfectly matching the existing woodwork so that it looks as though it was always there. He re-built a screen porch and, in this case, went beyond simply restoring what had once been beautiful, and greatly enhanced it with a creative and yet completely harmonious design. It is gorgeous, as everyone who sees it invariably remarks. Pierre is a gifted craftsman with an artist's eye who brings the highest standards to everything he does. He has a network of trusted, capable and responsive professional colleagues who work with him. He always delivers on time and on budget, always responds quickly when we need him--to solve problems big or small-- and is always generous with his time and his expertise. He's been a joy to work with and to know.

I have known and worked with Pierre Matta since 1996. He has done projects for my wife and I as small a ceiling repair or as large as a bath renovation. The quality of his work is only exceeded by his personal and professional demeanor. I am the trustee of a 20 unit condominium association and have recommended Pierre to every unit owner in the complex. Pierre has built custom cabinetry, stand alone pieces, renovated kitchens, baths, bedrooms, even entire units. Uniformly, the owners have been thrilled with Pierre’s work. We have gone so far as to hire Pierre to serve as the general contractor for all of the common area repair and maintenance work on our buildings.
Pierre is a real craftsman and a gentleman.

We have been working with Pierre Matta since 1994. Our first experience with Matta Woodworking was the construction of a 3 Season Room. We had several quotes and designs done on the room by other vendors and Pierre was the only vendor to notice a problem with the roof line. The room was built and 15 years later it still looks brand new.
We hired Pierre again in 2005 to gut and rebuild our kitchen and adjoining powder room. Unlike other kitchen renovations, the kitchen we designed was 100% custom designed from the color of the floors to the unique woodworking that we wanted with the cabinets.
Through a series of multiple conversations we agreed on a design and construction was underway. Like all construction projects there were little twists and turns, but Pierre made it effortless. He showed up when he said he would show up and had all the subcontractors scheduled when needed. The process ran like clockwork. In addition to the unbelievable cabinets he built and the unique design when we had some issues 3 years later with a couple of the cabinet components Pierre came back and fixed them. Our kitchen is a showpiece and a true credit to Pierre’s design creativity.
In 2009 we hired Pierre to gut and redo our master bathroom and other full bathroom. We had certain ideas of what we wanted, but when Pierre came in and laid out the plan he saw a huge issue. He redid the plan and the project got underway. Once again, his attention to detail on the custom cabinets and all glass shower made the bathroom look like a show piece. His patience with us when we were picking out tile and granite was exemplary and when we changed our mind over the tile at the 11th hour he didn’t care. His only worry was that he wanted us to be happy.
We can’t say enough wonderful things about Pierre’s work ethics, his attention to detail, his ability to design unique furniture pieces for our kitchen and bathrooms and his reliability to show up consistently to work and finish the job. He is the only contractor that we will ever use when we are building or remodeling.
