Getting the Most From Your Custom Design ConsultationMarch 15 2011

You've looked around, shopping the big box retailers for a furniture piece to complete your design vision. Deciding that nothing out in the general marketplace matches your need, you've decided to create a custom furniture piece with Pierre Matta. Here are a few tips to best prepare with your initial design consultation:

  1. Know Your Tastes:
What might be beautiful to some, may not mesh with your design aesthetics. Take photos or copies of furniture design pieces that match your desired tastes. Be sure to include photos of the room where the final piece will reside so we can best match your vision.
  2. Have a Primary Purpose:
How will this new piece of furniture serve you? Be sure to have a primary purpose so we can design the best piece possible matching your desired function.
  3. Natural, Stained or Painted:
Based on your current design, how would you like the final piece to stand out? We have an array of finishes you can select to be sure to match your current design or new ideas to accent the piece in your room.
  4. Have Your Measurements:
Not only should you have the dimensions you would like the final piece to be, you should be prepared with doorways, stairwells and other areas we will need to get around in order to move your final piece in.

As part of your design consultation with Pierre Matta works with every client all the way from initial sketch to final finish. Each piece which leaves our workshop carries both precision and one-of-a-kind character.
